Canoe rental at Vallon Pont d'Arc : how does it work?

Canoe and kayak rental for a descent of the Ardèche

It's your first canoe or kayak trip down the Ardèche, follow our guide!

Renting your canoe or kayak: booking

Aigue Vive offers several river trips. The Ardèche offers a variety of excursions (through the Ardèche Gorges or upstream on flatter sections). The choice of canoe trip can be based on several criteria:

  • the level of technical and physical difficulty (easy, medium, difficult),
  • and the amount of time you want to spend on the water. Trips are often categorized by difficulty (from a few hours to a full day).

You can book a canoe or kayak trip online or directly on site. The online booking rate is always cheaper than booking on site, so keep that in mind!
It's often best to book in advance, especially during peak season (July/August), to ensure a canoe is available and avoid waiting too long before heading out on the river.

Booking through our website: the easiest and fastest method - you benefit a preferential rate
1 - Choose your trip directly on our website. Trips are categorized by package: 1-day trips, 2-day trips, trips with overnight bivouacs
2 - Select the number of participants, the desired departure date and time
3 - Fill in your contact information: please note that your email address and phone number are important so we can contact you in case of changes!
4 - Confirm your reservation and pay directly via our secure online payment system
5 - You will receive a confirmation email for your reservation

You can also opt to pay by holiday vouchers (ANCV). In this case, you will have to pay for your reservation on the day of your trip directly at our rental base.

On-site booking: convenient if you're just passing through and want to see us directly - the rate is less advantageous.
We are here to advise and guide you in choosing your trip.
You book directly with us. You can pay by credit card, check, cash, or holiday vouchers (ANCV).

Once you've made your reservation, head to our Aigue Vive canoe rental on the day of your trip.

You'll be greeted with a smile and good humor by our team. This is where the fun begins.

Briefing

This step allows us to explain the course of the trip and we'll review the trip plan with you.
If you'd like, we'll show you the basic techniques for mastering your canoe or kayak. We promise, it's easier than it looks!

Equipment

We'll equip you with life jackets and a waterproof container to keep all your belongings dry (55-liter container). Of course, paddles will be provided to keep you moving. Sensitive items (phones, cameras, etc.) must be protected with suitable equipment. Don't worry, we can offer you the option of purchasing state-of-the-art cases to protect your cell phones, as well as waterproof bags.

Transportation and Returns

Depending on the trip you choose, you will depart directly from our base by canoe.
For other trips, we will transport you by bus to your starting point.

Once your trip is complete, at the arrival point, our team will welcome you (and your canoe) and return you to our base by bus, for a relaxing and worry-free end to your day.

Pets

Your dog is welcome as long as it weighs no more than 30 kg and only for the 8 km and 13 km trips. Pets are prohibited in the Nature Reserve. Only these two trips are permitted with pets. And don't forget: never tie your dog to the canoe!
